Terms of use

1. Operator and scope

These terms apply to Semgyeol, provided by IBRDOS Co., Ltd. ((주)아이비알도스, the “Company”). Contact dev@ibrdos.com with questions. The Privacy Policy describes information handling.

2. Service

Semgyeol calculates how participants share manually entered group expenses and the balancing amounts between them. For each expense, you select one payer and the participants sharing its cost. You can share results as an image or text and back up or restore group records using JSON files.

The app does not execute transfers, payments or billing and does not connect to financial accounts. Calculated results and shared records are not proof of payment, a financial transaction statement or a legal determination of obligations between participants. There is no registration, paid subscription or in-app purchase. Charges from carriers, devices or external services are subject to those providers' terms.

3. Calculation and inputs

Each group uses one currency: KRW, JPY, USD or EUR. There is no exchange-rate conversion. Calculations use whole won or yen for KRW or JPY and cents for USD or EUR.

Each expense is split equally between its selected participants. Any remainder is allocated one minor currency unit at a time to those participants in their order in the group. A payer may be excluded from sharing that expense. Individual payments and shares are combined to calculate net balances. The displayed settlement path is not guaranteed to use the fewest possible transactions.

Changing amounts, participants or payers changes the results. Records should reflect the actual expenses and the participants' arrangements. The app does not automatically verify completed transfers or subtract them from balances.

The app supports up to 50 groups, with up to 30 people and 60 expenses in each group. Limits apply to amounts, text, local storage and backup files. See Support for the specific limits.

4. Records, sharing and backups

Group records are stored on your device. The Company does not provide account synchronization or a server recovery copy. After confirmation, restoring a JSON backup replaces all current groups; it does not merge lists. Language and appearance preferences are managed separately.

Exported content includes group, participant and amount information. JSON backups are readable text and are not password-protected. You can choose sharing destinations and storage locations and manage access. Copies held by other apps or services are subject to those providers' terms and are not deleted when you remove records inside Semgyeol.

During cleanup, the app deletes sharing-cache files older than 24 hours; the operating system may remove them earlier. Exported backup files can be used for longer-term retention. iOS system backups and device transfers follow Apple's settings. Android automatic app backup is disabled.

5. Appropriate use and rights

Use information you are entitled to enter and share. Rights in your group records do not transfer to the Company. Do not use the app to infringe others' rights, compromise service security or manipulate advertising clicks or impressions. This does not restrict activities protected by applicable law.

The Company grants a non-exclusive right to use the app for its ordinary purpose. Ownership of the app or brand and trademark rights do not transfer to you. Open-source components remain subject to their licenses. Mandatory legal rights and app-store terms continue to apply.

6. Ads and external services

Semgyeol includes a Google AdMob banner below the results. Viewing or clicking an ad is not required to use core features. Advertisers provide their own products and services, and their terms govern those transactions. Displaying an ad does not mean the Company sells or endorses the advertised product.

7. Changes, liability and disputes

The Company may update the app or change its scope for improvements, security, operating-system changes or reasonable operational needs. Material changes and changes to these terms are announced with their effective date in the app or on its information pages. Separate consent is obtained when required by law.

The Company remains responsible as required by applicable law. These terms do not limit liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence or exclude rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. Questions and disputes may be sent to dev@ibrdos.com. Mandatory law and the rules governing competent courts determine applicable law and jurisdiction.
