Privacy policy

IBRDOS Co., Ltd. ((주)아이비알도스, the “Company”) provides Semgyeol. Contact dev@ibrdos.com for privacy and service inquiries.

1. Group information on your device

Semgyeol uses group titles, participant names, expense titles, amounts, payers, participants sharing each expense, creation and modification times, and calculated balances to split group expenses. Group records and language and appearance preferences are stored on your device. The app has no registration, bank connection, Company server synchronization, or proprietary analytics or crash reporting. The Company does not collect your group records on a server or attach them to advertising requests.

You enter participant names yourself; the app does not import contacts. Calculated balances come from entered expenses and do not reflect a query of actual bank transfers or payment transactions.

2. Sharing, backups and restoration

You can share a group's expenses, individual shares and suggested balancing payments as an image or text. Shared content includes participant names and amounts. A JSON backup contains all groups and their names, expenses, participants and related records. It is a readable text file; the app does not add password protection or encryption to it.

The system share sheet sends content to the app, file location or service you select. Copies sent to or stored with an external service are subject to that provider's privacy terms. They are not automatically sent to the Company.

Restoration reads a file you select through the system file picker. After validating its format, content and size and obtaining your confirmation, the app replaces the entire current group list with the backup. It does not merge lists. Language and appearance preferences are not part of a group backup. Downloads from a cloud file provider are handled by the service you select.

The app keeps temporary JSON and PNG copies in its cache for sharing. During cleanup it deletes copies older than 24 hours; the operating system may clear them earlier. A cache copy created to read an imported backup is deleted after reading. The original backup and copies exported elsewhere remain in their respective locations.

3. Retention and deletion

Group records remain on your device until you delete a group or all app data. Restoring a backup replaces the current groups. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data through the operating system also affects local records. Exported images, text and JSON files and copies held by other services are not deleted when records are removed inside the app.

Android automatic app backup is disabled. On iOS, app data can be included in system backups or device transfers according to your device and operating-system settings. Apple's settings and terms govern those backups and restoration. The Company does not provide a separate server backup or account-based recovery service.

4. Advertising and privacy choices

Semgyeol uses Google AdMob's Google Mobile Ads SDK to display a banner below the results. Viewing or clicking an ad is not required to calculate or share group expenses.

Advertising services may use IP addresses and approximate location inferred from them, ad impressions and responses, app interactions, diagnostic and performance information, and app or device identifiers for advertising, measurement, analytics and fraud prevention. Group titles, participant names, expense amounts, calculated results and backup files are not included in ad requests.

The app requests non-personalized ads. On iOS, it checks Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) system permission before loading Google UMP or the advertising SDK or requesting ads. With permission, Google advertising services may process device and advertising information to deliver ads and measure their effectiveness. If permission is denied, restricted or unavailable, no ads are requested and the app’s core features remain available. Permission is checked again when returning from system settings. The Android AD_ID permission is removed. Android 13 and later restrict advertising-ID access without this permission; on Android 12L and earlier, advertising-ID processing may depend on operating-system and Google services settings. Non-personalized advertising does not eliminate all advertising SDK data processing after authorization.

Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) presents privacy choices where regional requirements apply. When available, you can review or change your choices through Ads privacy in Settings. The app does not request ads when requests are not permitted, and its group features remain available.

The SDK sends relevant information to Google services, which may process it outside your country. See the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from apps that use its services for processing and deletion information. Uninstalling the app does not delete advertising information already transmitted.

5. Support and external pages

If you email dev@ibrdos.com, the Company uses your sending address, message, attachments you choose to provide and correspondence to address the inquiry. The app does not automatically attach group records or backups. You can use example names and amounts instead of disclosing participants' actual details.

Support information is deleted when its purpose is fulfilled, except where a legal retention requirement applies. Uninstalling the app does not delete previously sent email. Policy and support documents can be read inside the app. When you open an external link, visit the website or send email, communications through the relevant website, browser or email service are subject to that provider's terms.

6. Permissions and safeguards

The app uses the system file picker for restoration and the system share sheet for sharing. It does not request access to your full photo library or permissions to save photos, read contacts, use the camera or microphone, or access GPS location. IP-based location estimation by advertising services is separate from GPS permission.

Inputs and backups are checked for valid structure, participant references, amounts and size before storage. Access to support information received directly by the Company is limited to business needs. Device locks and access controls for backup and sharing destinations can help protect your records.

7. Your rights and policy changes

You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or withdrawal of consent regarding information held by the Company, as provided by applicable law, at dev@ibrdos.com. Authorized representatives may also submit requests. The Company verifies only the information needed to handle a request and responds according to applicable law. For group data the Company does not hold, it provides guidance on managing the data in the app or your chosen storage location.

In Korea, assistance is also available from the Personal Information Infringement Report Center and the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee. Semgyeol is not designed or promoted primarily for children. A parent or guardian may contact the Company about a child's information sent to it.

Changes to processing practices and their effective date are announced in the app or on its information pages. New consent is obtained where required by law.
